Who are your favorite authors?
Amanda Hocking, Cassandra Clare, Jenny Han and many more :)
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm either blogging, reading, spending time with my friends, or obsessing over a book character lol
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I'm obsessed with GoodReads...
What do you read for pleasure?
Lots and lots of young adult books of different genres
What is your writing process?
I sit down at my computer, blast music and let the words flow :)
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Yes, I first started writing novels at 14 and haven't stopped. My first book had a huge impact on the next two books (it was a trilogy) and it had a huge impact on my life, everything changed after that first series.
How do you deal with writer’s block?
If I'm just kind of stuck, I'll turn up my music really loud and sit at my computer, rereading what I just wrote until I come up with a way to plow through.
If it's really bad writer's block, I'll walk away and think about it for a while until I come up with a way to get through it. Sadly, this takes days or weeks...
What’s the best thing about being a writer?
The best thing about being a writer is being able to create another reality that I can just fall into. I also love creating a new character that (I hope) is easily relatable to readers.
What are you currently working on?
Right now, I'm writing another young adult novel (currently have bad writer's block though) while editing another.
Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
I'm not entirely sure....I literally have a whole drawer-full of scrape pieces of paper with scribbled book ideas on them.
After finishing another novel (unpublished) last year, I decided to pick a random piece of paper from my "Book Idea Drawer." (I know, original name, huh?) The piece of paper I picked just so happened to be the the concept for my first published novel, "The Darkest Light."
So, that was the book I decided to write, and later, publish.
